Pirrís hydroelectric plant located between the area of Los Santos and Parrita cut its production to only 30% capacity when the summer heats only.

The reduced generation due to the decrease in rainfall. This forced the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) to reduce its operation to keep the water as a backup for the summer.
