CNFL asks for 35.5% increase on electricity rateBy Manuel Avedaño The National Power and Light Company (CNFL) asked, on Wednesday, an increase of 35.5% in the electricity tariff for its customers, with the intention of entering into force in December this year. The requested increase in rates is divided into two categories: 25.8% for the CNFL covers purchases of electricity in 2016 and 7.7% to finance power purchases made to the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE ) in this 2015.
